steps wooden door illusion lines geometry decay promise

“No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it’s not the same river and he’s not the same man.” (Heraclitus)

I start to realize that 365 days are a long time if you have to post one photo every day. Some will be good, others less. I think this one is less appealing but I do like it, because I like things that aren’t what they seem to be. In some way they are like a broken promise, or like a promise that turns to be different from what we did expect. So here we go with such a promise I want to share with you today.
These are no steps, even nothing that is more dimensional. It’s an optical illusion. It’s a wooden door I found on walk in town and I thought that it would be fun to turn it at 90 degrees. That’s what I actually did.
Is it abstract? Good question. I would say yes and simply put it in the category “urban abstracts” until someone comes over and tells me why it isn’t.
